I feel that Fort Worth Independent School District could do better. Students are not as prepared for challenging academics let alone those that they need in order to advance to the next grade or graduate. Ever since I became a student of Fort Worth Independent District, I've been struggling to strive in Academics as I did in my previous school districts. It is not just myself but my peers can also attest to this. I really don't understand what the problem is. Maybe it is the teachers that need teach differently or it could be that the students need to focus more. Either way, I know something has to be changed or else the district will is going to rank lower and lower.

I have been in the FWISD system since I was about 6 years old, and i can confidently say that I have enjoyed my experience with the system. One moment that I can remember from my school was when I was being severely bullied at the age of 14, because I was dealing with a very rare disease, which was Juvenile dermatomyositis, so I was having to take many medications for my disease. One of the medications was steroids, and no it wasn't the ones where they would help me build muscle, all they did was make me extremely hungry, and made my body develop faster than the rest of my peers.Ultimately, that cause many to bullied me because my clothes began to not fit me as they used to, and once it had got worse I told one of my administrators and they had it under control in seconds. We have a zero bully policy in FWISD so, they took my report very seriously and soon those girls were gone, and everyday I thank that teacher because hadn't it been for them who knows what those girls would have done.

I would love to see more parent involved every day we see less and less parents that attend school events with their children. I love that we have lots of extracurriculars and a great passion in sports like baseball, soccer, football and even swimming. Fort Worth ISD is a great school district that helps and enhance young minds from elementary school to High School. School events are always fun and the teachers even assign extra credit is student attends events which is a great way for students to get involved into school life and meet new people. The environment is exceptional and the teachers always try to help student out on whatever they may need. In elementary schools the teachers always try to get close and have a connection with the parents so that the child at home gets the attention they may need aswell. I just think that high school seniors shouldn't have to pay for parking and get towed because of not having one the districts should be more focused on academics not parking.
