Why is the internet not working for Spectrum? ›

Make sure your modem is set up properly and that there aren't any loose or damaged connections. Verify that you're using your Spectrum-issued modem. Move closer to your WiFi router. You'll get the best WiFi signal within roughly 125 feet from the router.

Troubleshooting a Single TV Issue

Unplug the cable box for 30 seconds and reconnect power. Check to ensure the connection of coax or Ethernet cable from wall to the box is secured properly and that there aren't any loose or damaged connections. Check that the TV is on the correct input for the video feed.

There can be a number of reasons for having no internet, even when the Wi-Fi symbol shows that you're connected. The most common cause is a problem with your router or modem, or a loose cable, but your internet can also fail because of a more technical reason.

There could be a number of factors that affect your internet connection. First, and most likely, is problems with your equipment. Restarting your modem/router will often resolve the issue. Other reasons why your internet may keep going out include inadequate speeds, network congestion and inclement weather.

Verify the TV is on the correct input (Video 1, HDMI, etc.) by pressing Input, Source or TV/Video on your remote control. Confirm that both your receiver and TV have power and are turned on. If you think your receiver is turning off on its own, you should check the Power Settings.

If a No Signal message is displayed on the TV screen, it indicates the receiver needs to be powered on. Press the power button on the box, or use your remote to turn it on. The TV screen will show a message: "Stick around, we're setting things up for you."

Once you have signed on for Spectrum services, they will mail you a Self-Install Kit. The kit provides you with all of the equipment and cables necessary to set up your Internet service and start surfing the web.

Unplug all cables from the router (and modem, if you have separate devices), and leave them unplugged for about a minute. Plug everything back in and wait 5 minutes for everything to boot back up. This often clears up connection issues with Spectrum, including a red light on the router. Check if the modem is online.
