when I turn on my monitor it tells me that ALL the rows have failed , if I go back and unplug any one sensor , then it will tell me that row "the one that I unpluged" has failed , and the rest are ok . I have cleanded seed tubes and squirted contact cleaner on all the big round plugs and blew them out , checked fuses , What do I do next ???

Doesn't it say failed until it starts sensing the seeds drop? That what our CT200 does. Turning at the headlands they all say fail, until you drop it back down and the seed starts falling past the sensor.

this is a new planter for me, still trying to figure things out. Guess I should dump some seed in it and go try it , I hope your right and it is a "operator" problem .

When turned on it will scan through all the rows and they will ALL be Failed until you start to move and seed starts dropping then it should read. That is how ours works.

Yes it will say fail untill seed drops in the tubes if for example have a planter with half with disconect which ever side you shut off will say fail and the rows will sense. Gets to be annoying if you have alot of point rows or have to make half a pass at the end especaily on mile long rows. I never shut if off because if you watch the numbers failing it could be one that should be planting.

It might also say "fail" for some distance like 50 ft or so. Mine does this some times.

Before I start for the day, I turn my planter wheels to show that seed are dropping, all row. I get in and plant and that way I am more patient with the monitor when starting a field or a day.

You may also get wind blowing up the seed tubes that will give erratic reading as to pop. Some times very high, like 60,000+ when doing corn.

When the tube gets dirty it will show low readings. I fill my boxes evenly, very evenly, so if one row is giving such a reading for a long period I have the option of checking the fullness of the box and comparing it to it's neighbor box.

The monitor is most valuable to me when a row unit jumps a chain or a tube is plugged. The pop. count is about worthless because I can fill all boxes the same fullness and have pop. vary by 1-2,000 per row, but the boxes will all empty the same, with in reason. My average pop. never matches my sprocket setting.

We just switched from radar to a hockey puck style GPS and the monitor works much better now for population.

You can turn the failing rows off if you are planting with a half planter. I don't remember the button but when you turn on the half-width you can get it to read those rows only.

I had the same thing happen to me with a planter that was new to me. I gave the 250 to the dealer and the said it was bad. They sent it out to get worked on. I have not got it back yet to see how it is supposed to work correctly. I hope they are not taking me for extra money.

So my 250 monitor cycles thru failed when sitting still. When planting it beeps and still says failed and goes thru each row. But it is planting as I can see the shaft turn and find seed when I dig. My speed on the monitor is same as tractor and my acre counter is working. What can I check.? Thanks
